As usual, it's friday and today was sale barn day...loooooong day..i always get super tired on fridays...sales go on and on.....i even hear the auctioneer auctioning over the microphone in my sleep sometimes!...lol..we hid from Harrell P. today!...hahaha!....and he never saw us..thank the lords!...LOL!
helped my Aunts all w/buying pumpkins at 4pm today..i was covered in cow poop/hay dust/dirt--stink!....and they just insisted we go w/them RIGHT THEN!...why is it always RIGHT NOW! w/them?!..i'm surprised they allowed me to go w/them looking & smelling like i did!....haha!...that was a first...but we just went to a garden place off the highway and bought "imported" pumpkins from states where it actually did rain this season..which we all know is not here!(Western Oklahoma!)..is it ever gonna rain again?..i really worry about this stuff....
the pumpkins are for decorating their houses, and they gave me & Sarah both some of their pumpkin stash to take home w/us and decorate..but i have a collection of fake decor pumpkins already i have in my room/all over the house..i don't know how many Sarah has?...but trust me, we girls are apart of this family and it's in our blood to decorate and do a beautiful whimsical job at it!.....they teach/train you early on how to make things pretty around here!..HAHA!.i love decorating anyway....
i was going to go to the Pumpkin Festival in Hobart....but i would have to go stay at Mark's house for the night, because the drive home would be too late getting back, and as always, our family flips out about us girls driving home in the dark by ourselves..Oooh Spoooky!!!..lol....soooo i didn't really wanna go stay the night there w/all the wild parties and wild women that might be there...lol....wild parties & wild women---they're just a staple in his life(hmm.......he's just like the rest of the men in our family)..Haha!..so you just expect that to all be there and i'm not too keen on being around w/all that going on...i would be very uncomfortable/embarrassed, accidentally seeing or hearing any of what might go on..haha!...gross!
so tomorrow we will be celebrating my brother's birthday instead...we're having dinner for him at noon and we're making some of his favorite pies for him...i think we're cooking roast & potatoes,homemade rolls,vegetables,salad..that's what he wanted....Grandma & Grandpa are going to be there & the rest of the crazy gang...lol
For his gift from me, i just bought him a ceramic coffee cup that is a pumpkin---filled it w/candy corn/pumpkins, and an assortment of hot chocolate in packages---mint/caramel/white chocolate/double chocolate/french vanilla...he loves to drink hot chocolate stuff(just like me!) in the fall/winter before he hits the road for work..so i thought that would be cool for him....in fact, that stuff smelled so good i might go back and buy myself a sampler of those next week..i love the smell of coffee stuff! anyhow hope he likes it all...
i also put a small scarecrow on a stick(decoration)in it and wrapped the whole thing in tissue paper that is black w/candy corns on it...i think it's super cute!...he'll probably just look at it and be all like:"Oh"...haha....
staying home tonight and try to start making those pies for tomorrow..besides, i'd rather stay home and out of the smoke at the bar tonight(they're all going tonight as usual)i've already got a bad case of the sneezies and allergies....
i'm getting better at cooking/baking things i think?..meringue on pie-is kinda puzzling when cooking it..maybe i should just let Grandma make that?...i'm kinda nervous!...
better take my Benadryl AFTER i get all the pies finished and cooked...because i will fall asleep and be out for the night in 10 seconds...don't wanna burn anything up...haha
