I was able to go to town yesterday to the local mall and other stores........I see that the Salvation Army has their yearly holiday fundraiser, The Red Kettles, to raise money for charity......
The people are ringing the bells, near the red kettles, I always try to place any extra shopping change, a few dollars into the red kettles, say hi ! Be respectful, never try to steal the red kettles ! For the needy......
We need to always think of others everyday who are needy, suffering, and going through difficult times.......be humble, kind, charitable, if possible.......this is the righteous way ! Of goodness !
We all have been through terrible upsets, troubles, been in poverty, may still be struggling to live our lives, but always remember, there are others everywhere in this world who have much worse troubles, times, than you have right now ! As I always say, Be thankful for whatever you have, because some people don't even have that much !
Health issues, pain, upset, grief, danger, no food, no shelter, no one to care + love for them, always be thankful for the good you have in life, others suffer out there !
Every time I hear a bell ring, I think of that old movie It's a Wonderful Life ---- Every time a bell rings, an Angel gets its wings ! Very cute saying, maybe true ?
Being kind, donating any extra change to the red kettles, is wonderful.....
We have many ways to be helpful, charitable this time of year ! Those in need, everywhere...
Homeless shelters, --- donate used or new cleaned, clothing, all types, sizes, shoes, warm attire, gloves, hats, coats, sweaters, canned foods, bedding, all clean, donations of food, donate time in soup kitchens, donate gifts.....
Women's + children's havens --- the same as above.......
United way --- donate time !!! They do great work, need helpers ! :)
Goodwill --- they need helpers, cleaning, charitable work !
Angel tree --- at local malls or businesses, paper angels with children's toy choices, clothing sizes, male or female, choose from Christmas tree in stores, take with you shopping, purchase a gift or so, from children's list on the paper angel, return to the store with newly purchased gift ! Only if possible, another charity ! Helpful.
Pet shelters --- they need adoptions of all pets !!! I have talked about this before ! Donate to pet shelters, money, pet food, pet toys, cat litters, kennels, pet taxis, bedding, dry + canned food, packaged food, for all types of pets !!! All donated items need to be new, for cleanliness reasons ! Donate your time to help out if allowed, health concerns......wonderful way to be helpers !
Canned food drives --- these are everywhere right now, so if you see one locally and can afford a few canned foods, purchase + donate ! Helping others makes me smile ! :)
Clothing drives --- donate pre -- washed, worn, no tears, No stains, no rips, in clothing all sizes, styles to clothing drives, all ages, separate types, place interior garment sack, donate !
Hygienic items donate ! --- we have purchased hygiene, items donate to those in need, purchase at Dollar tree, dollar bins, travel size items at Wal-Mart on that aisle, purchase a few, affordable donate to those in need, toiletries, also......take to churches donating, and homeless shelters.....
Mental health homes --- if permitted, drop by and gift cheerful items, of the season......helps those there to know others care !
Hospitals allowing greetings --- gifts of cheer, those who are ill, depressed, stop by if allowed gift get well greetings, balloons, plush ( new ) say hello, and cancer centers need greetings also ! Be kind, very nice !
We need to always stop and think about how we are well presently, things can change for us, in a matter of seconds, because that is how life often is, we could be those suffering, in pain, needy, starving, freezing in the streets homeless, struggling, or seriously ill with diseases........
When we think of others, charitable, kind, respectful, and try to donate time + help, The Lord is pleased with our work as this also !
Many of us grew up as children very much in poverty, that has taught us to be humble and to know + feel what others are facing, have lived through, fought to live, we have been there, we know how we wish we could have had others help us, all a life teaching surviving through these very bad days !
We know to be there for others, as a ginormous family here on earth, to understand every condition, every abuse, every painful minute all have suffered.....Every neglect, every strife, be caring and show we care !
Best time of year to show we care, we should always, be humble, caring, wonderful ! :)
