Yesterday was exciting, we had to fight off a rattlesnake while we were building fence...again.....We didn't even hear/or see it until it was almost right upon us!...you talk about scary!...The only way i noticed it was it caught my eye slithering over near some big rocks and it was after us.....
we are so lucky & Sarah couldn't hardly run to jump in the back of the truck because of her cast on her foot....oh man....it must have had a den or something by those rocks and we disturbed it moving that pile of tree limbs...it was one of those huge ones...we couldn't get in through the passenger door because it locks because the handle is broken & was right beside some boulders, the back sliding glass window was locked, and the windows were all up on both doors...it was right by the driver side door RIGHT INFRONT OF US....
so we got in the back of the truck and tried to wait for it to leave..but it stayed there and rattled/hissed at us...i found a shovel on the back of the truck and we tried to lean over and move it...it bit the shovel...oh god...that is so spooky the way its fangs scraped against that metal....we got freaked out that we would be stranded or bit....and it was 111 degrees...
so we thought & thought of some way to get it to leave...we even tried scooping it up w/the shovel and it was so heavy and kept striking at the handle.....i tried throwing the shovel thinking it might cut it in half..but i shoulda known better...you can't throw it and make that happen...didn't work.....so finally we got a spare tire off the back and rolled it...and it landed on the snake..distracted him enough that we had time to jump in the driver side door!..oh my goodness....that was so scary...we are far from town and by the time we would get medical attention if we ever get bit it could be too late for a rattlesnake bite!......yikes
so that was exciting & SPOOKY.
tomorrow we have to move more livestock....and a guy is coming by to buy some horses & 2 bulls...long day of work ahead for tomorrow...
112 degrees hot & hot, no rain in sight..again....i hate you La` Nina` or whatever your stupid weather name is!
Taking Grandpa to get surgery done on his other eye thursday morning..same place/same time as last time...he's not as nervous this time he says....i just gotta keep him away from the bar,the whiskey,the card table, & his old cowboy friends all day thursday afterward....bwahahaha!!!!.....i don't know why he likes me to drive him to the surgery...but he says i don't nag so that's a fact i can be proud of right?....LOL....i feel kinda special my Grandpa asks me to drive him out of everybody else in our family....i'm special! i'm special! i'm special!....LOL!!!
he told me today that he sees really good in his eye he already had surgery on,but that now his eye he needs surgery on is making his vision off balance..Dr. said that after this surgery thursday that he will probably be able to go w/out his glasses from now on....i think he's looking forward to that.....
