I think I am going to purchase a can of Chicken & Stars soup by Campbell's....It makes me feel better when I'm not feeling too good.....I have always used it for a meal whenever I have been feeling bad, in school I always purchased a can of it when I was ill.....I like to see the stars in my soup spoon floating there!.....
Been thinking about all the fall festivals that happen every year locally, and I remember the one in my old hometown when I was younger...we had so many fun games and events to take part in....
You need a good colorful scheme at these and we always enjoyed using Orange & Black at ours...it looks like Fall season.....and that was the color theme at our school....it looked good!
I think these should be planned by good people that are fun, energetic, well organized, creative individuals on a town event planner committee who enjoy celebrations and themes...should be a lot of fun, and want to try new fun ideas/events for ALL to enjoy, make it affordable!
Decorate in Fall Décor(it doesn't have to cost much, purchase at Dollar Tree or Dollar Stores)
Decorate with real hay bales stacked for seats to set on and enjoy the Festival, Decorate with corn stalks, real pumpkins!...scarecrows, fall flowers( I enjoy the redish brown, golden, orange sunflowers and the fake fall leaves strands....cute! Orange or Candy Corn lights are an added colorful glow to these events, make sure you have wall electrical outlet plug-ins at the building where you will have the Festival.....
I also enjoy Vintage Fall Seasonal Decorations by a company called Beistle, they are older looking and I just adore that! (some may be pricey) Paper Decorations and everything fun.....AND I like the printed Paper Cups and Paper plates you can purchase everywhere that are printed for Fall season....I enjoy the older printed picture vintage look to those printed on them, IF I can find them!
Purchase TICKET ROLLS and have them for purchase, probably $3.00/ticket admission fee for Adults..Kids free to attend!
ADVERTISE weeks in advance and everyone may wish to donate time to bring equipment in, move things to the Festival...This needs to take place in a grand sized building with space for many to attend....
WEAR A COSTUME: Everyone should join in the fun and wear a Costume...I was always dressed up like a Cute Witch.....it's fun to paint your face, wear a witch's hat/decorate it, costume, carry a decorated broom with you in glitters/painted......All that Black Magic talk is Hooey Phooey Balogna!!!..(NOT REAL).....Witches don't even mean anything, just folklore(made up) and a costume to dress up in and have fun at Festivals in....just CUTE!....WEAR a costume you enjoy, take your family all dressed up in costume get out there and attend the Fall Festivals!.....This picture beside this writing looks like Me and Pumpkin Cat in this picture!...lol....He doesn't attend the Festival though.....he would get into mischief!..lol...
These are some of the EVENTS we had at our Fall Festival and others you can add for more fun:
Someone reliable, trustworthy, good should watch over every event and GOOD people should be in charge to help keep everyone safe!
Most of the prizes are good to be purchased from Oriental Trading.....inexpensive, whimsical and fun.....smaller toys, Grand prizes can be different items...(all new items for this)
Rubber Duckies Floating Pond----
Take 25 Rubber Duckies and remove them from package, take a permanent Sharpie Pen in Black ink and write one number on the bottom of each of them you know; 1, 2, 3, and so on....Let them Dry....Place them into a grand-sized water bucket and let them float(you may wish to tint the water Blue/Aqua for added fun)...Place them into the water the morning of the day the Festival starts.....Everyone who wishes to take part in the game, just walks up and tells them Hi! and you choose one Rubber Ducky from the water and look onto the bottom to see what number is written there...The number on the bottom is the same number on a prize that you can choose from behind the counter...some numbers you can win a very grand prize, others are smaller.....
Fishing Game-----
Place a strong cardboard wall up that is decorated in Orange & Black you can make it fairly Tall so that no one can see over the cardboard wall....You create a fishing pole out of a mop handle, paint it and attach a piece of string to the end of it, similar to a real fishing pole, then place a clothespin on the end of it to attach prizes to...2 other people are hidden on the other side of the cardboard wall to attach the prizes to the clothespins....The person taking part in the game holding the fishing pole throws the string over the cardboard wall and they attach a small prize to the clothespin, bring it back over to you and see what your prize is!...this was always fun to me....
Pellet Bean Bag Toss with cans----
Take very well cleaned food cans that are empty, tape Orange or Black Construction paper over them and set them in stack one onto the other....place a few infront of the wall...sort of make a small wall of them....If you knock them ALL down when you throw the Pellet Bean Bag you win a prize!..This is fun...make it challenging...
Balloon animals----are fun to create in shapes, someone will know how to create these and give to people.....
Spin the Wheel----spinning wheel there made from wood colorful fall color hues decorated...you spin the wheel and win a prize however it lands when you spin it, it may say what prize you win...grand or small prize...fun.
Pie in the Face of a local person-----
Ask local people, police, mayors, town board members, doctors, local people of influence ask them to take part and set in the booth to have a whipped cream pie thrown in their face!...Haha!...They place a trash bag over their clothes. This is funny...I laugh at this one...it is fun when these people like to take part in this and have fun.....goes to local charity fundraisers...
Cake Walk----
Purchase a pre-packaged already made cake, or any other pre-packaged dessert from a local grocery store or from somewhere like Walmart Bakery(more affordable) anyone will be just fine...They NEED to be pre-packaged for cleanliness issues and that way they are more safe for all to enjoy....(You may also have diabetic desserts there also for those who wish to participate and win one)
It is traditionally called a "cake walk" but you can choose all kinds of pre-packaged desserts to bring to win for your cake walk prize...Bring your pre-packaged desserts the day of the Festival, place in kitchen help area..they will attach a written number on paper to the dessert packaging....DO NOT REMOVE from the packaging!..for cleanliness....
Place 10 chairs in a circle, Each chair has a number written on paper taped to the back of the chair...10 people set in each chair....Play some music, as the 10 people stand up and walk around the chairs...when the music stops everyone sets in the chairs and the cake walk workers will call out a number they have drawn out of a hat....IF your number on the back of your chair matches, you win a cake/dessert of your choice....you can play several times...it's fun.
Hay rides---
You need to sign waivers for these hayrides so no one will be angry when they fall off or injure themselves...just legal crap, but they have to have these because of bad behavior.....People who are driving these hay rides need to have a good pickup truck that works properly and can pull a small trailer people can set on, place hay bales on these and make seating for people, drive down a designated safe road through a very close by country area...
Have someone dressed in costume be there with them on the trailer to tell them who they are going to see, what costume is upcoming next and next down the road....lol.... and have local authority people dressed in costume along the way, hand out safe candy on the stops, local police and fire/rescue can help with this and keep everyone safe....this should be held during the late evening, have everyone carry glow in the dark items so they can be seen, parents need to be with their children at all times if they wish to go on the hay rides....these are fun....
Costume Contest for you and your pets!-----
As I said earlier take part in the fun and wear a costume for the fall festival!!!....Costume Contests are fun and you can participate Adults and children can participate...they can all win a prize and ribbons.....
Pet costume contests I think are very fun and a good way for your pets to take part in the Festival in designated areas they can be taken by you to be seen in their costume!....Do not feed them before the festival because they will go to the bathroom there and this would be awful!...
Make very sure you hold onto your pet's leash they need to be collared/ with leashes attached, and very close to you, keep away from other pets so they won't fight or hurt one another.....Keep away from people they don't know so they will not bite someone....Cats should remain in pet taxi(carriers) they need collars/leashes also I think...Pumpkin cat couldn't attend because he is too hateful, so he has to stay at home.....Keep your children and pets safe at these places always.....always watch over them and know where they are beside you!!! very important!
they can win pet prizes/chewies/treats....
Door prizes, Raffles----People can write their names down on paper cards and place them into a designated Raffle box and you can have your name drawn to win a grand prize!...Door prizes can be spontaneously called out during the Fall Festival.....
Pumpkin Decorating Contest----
Paint a pumpkin of your choice in any Fall scene or paint it like a character....Bring this to the Fall Festival IF they have the Pumpkin Decorating Contest...everyone gets a prize/ribbon, they will all be unique and creative....use glitters, glue on false jewels, use crafting feathers, make faces on them, whatever creative good, kind, respectful painting you have, paint on your pumpkin...real or false pumpkin doesn't matter......
Witch Hat/Witches Broom decorating event----Purchase those costume witches hats at the dollar stores and decorate them with false flowers, false jewels, glitter, crafting feathers...wear them to the Fall Festival if you dress as a cute witch...place them on a table during the costume contest to be viewed and judged...everyone gets a ribbon!...all in fun...Decorate the brooms in paints, glitter, bejewel them....this is a good, creative/whimsical way to celebrate at the festival....women and girls really enjoy these contests and crafting ideas....I know I enjoy these events!
Refreshments----can be served at the designated kitchen area...you need to have a kitchen area in the building that is clean and health department inspected!....You can have tea, juice, soda, punch, hot chocolate, apple cider...for small fee...Hot dogs, Corn dogs, Funnel cakes, Pre-wrapped Caramel Apples, Pre-packaged Cotton Candy can be there for purchase also for a snack...these are tradition this time of year! All served and made by designated appointed kitchen staff....with no health concerns...
Cauldron of Punch is fun also....you can make it green and find a good green punch recipe....Someone that is good will be designated to prepare the punch so it is safe and clean...Place the punch into a dark grand sized pot and serve with cups of ice.....the server can dress up in costume to serve the green punch....you may place some ice into the "cauldron".....haha!...all in fun!
whew! that was a lot of rambling on and on about Fall Festivals.....haha...I just go on and on with this fun festival talk!...
just a good way to be social, meet others in your community, always be kind, friendly, respectful, to all, say thank you to everyone who helps you....Be clean as always!
