Garage sales are something that many small towns and cities have for people to take part in.
I have been to a lot of garage sales and I know that you can find several items to purchase at the garage sales....Different items..just really anything!
Garage sales are also a good way to get rid of items you own...
Garage sale labels/sticker----You can purchase garage sale price labels/sticker at any store(with labels already printed with prices on them, or you can purchase the labels you have to write your own price on and then place them on your items...it's easier that way...
Setting your own prices on items at the sale----You can just write a very cheap price on them anywhere from .50/cents to $5 to get rid of things quickly...People like finding items that are priced very low....
Tables---You always need tables that are spacious and you can place all items on tables that are fairly lightweight and sell them that way people can look at them and see them for sale.
Clothing and hangers----when selling clothing it needs to be clean and hanging on hangers...a wire metal clothing rack that is inexpensive works best...you always need plenty of hangers!
heavier items----Any heavier items for sell at garage sales I have always seen placed on the ground in box/or on a cardboard piece...People sell all kinds of heavy metal machinery at some garage sales and flea markets....
I say if you don't want it, get rid of it and make some money off of it, with a garage sale near your home or local small town/city if they allow that in your home area....
Sometimes it makes you feel better to get rid of things that hold memories when you look at them, so just place them in a garage sale!....
one person's trash, is another person's treasure---so if you don't like it or need it, somebody else would probably like it and purchase it...People are always needing items on sale and that are a bargain...
you need a money container kept behind where you are with extra money in it for change all money bills and coins will always be needed..keep money for paid purchases in the container also..keep this in your view at all times...People who are having garage sales ALWAYS need to stay there and make sure no one is stealing and they are not getting into your money container!
calculators are also needed at all sales so you can tally up the prices on items people are purchasing to make change and set the total cost...
Flea markets I have been to are very spacious and most usually they have been in buildings and I think you have to have booth space you purchase just to place your items in the flea markets..The same process as garage sales, for placing items in a flea market..but you have fees to place items there.
They have animals for purchase at flea markets I have been to and you can purchase them there BUT always make sure that you report any animals that may look abused or are getting over heated or stressed sometimes I have seen this and it upsets me/angers me people are so evil/mean to the animals!
just purchase any animal you wish at the flea markets but make very sure you have the time and are able to take care of them properly, and get them to your home SAFELY..You need a cage/container that they can breathe through and you can see them to get them home--always prepare ahead of time before you purchase any animals anywhere! take care of them and love them!
auctions are also a way to get rid of larger items and also sell homes/property...They are called estate/land or farm auctions...I have been to several farm/land auctions and they sell everything they can....Farming equipment, vehicles, home items, homes themselves, livestock, clothing, jewelry, antiques, just anything they have usually got it at an auction....and people like to attend those auctions and look for things to purchase...they last all day or several days to sell everything they can..
You need refreshments/concession stands with water/food items at the auctions, and some portable bathroom/toilet so people won't leave the auctions--they need to be comfortable with areas to be in the shade and rest....so they will stay to purchase items for sale in the auction even if it lasts several days they will more likely return to the auction...
ALWAYS advertise before the sale date a week before any way you can when you are having any of these sales with ads in the local papers, or brightly colored paper signs you write the date/time of the garage sale and how to get to the sales, placed in areas people can see them.....You can usually ask to place paper garage sale signs you have made in the local store windows with clear tape as well...just make them fairly small, but brightly colored and readable....those are all good ways to get rid of items you wish to not have anymore or to make some extra money!.....
start early morning with garage sales and stay all day and have the garage sell another day if you need to...weekends are the best time I think..more people can show for it and find items to purchase..
People really like to attend all of these sales and find bargains or maybe just anything they are needing or wish to have on sale....and you can make extra money that way!
