care packages....

Care packages or care gift baskets are things that I have been able to help out with at my church...

Many people are poor, homeless, and in need of many items that they could use on the streets or in shelters...sometimes you can also create care packages or baskets just to say thank you or to let someone know you care about them...

At the church we purchased several items that we found at the Dollar General store, Family Dollar store, and Dollar Tree....that way things are more affordable and you may purchase these things over and over so more people will be able to be given a care package....

you can also find these items on the travel-size area in many other stores....it is more affordable that way too!

in the care packages we placed these items mostly for hygiene and some food:

toothbrushes
toothpaste
hair brush/ hair comb
deodorant
cologne/perfume
bath/shower gel (wash)
hand sanitizer
bandages
hand lotion
mouthwash
chewing gum
canned food--pull top cans
snacks
crackers in a package
tissues
toiletry hygiene wipes
gloves
socks
winter pull over hat
bar soap
bottled water
playing cards
word searches
pens/pencils
sunscreen
magic towel
Bible

these items can be for women and men..we chose women hygiene items for the women, and men hygiene items for men and colors for each accordingly if you wish to....

children care packages included:

toys for boys and toys for girls
puzzles
activity books
story books
sunday school reading material
tissues
magic towel
bar soap
markers
pencils
paper
coloring books/crayons
snacks
juice boxes
socks
gloves
winter pull over hats
toothpaste
tooth brush

you may wrap these items in clear cellophane plastic from gift aisle after placing in a basket or open box, or you may place into ginormous gift sack, and place a bow and attach a greeting card to the care packages stating who the care package is from and a nice note of greeting is always nice and kind..

you must always label these care packages after you have completed creating them

we placed sticky notes on them and wrote: For Man, for Woman, For Child Boy or Girl......That way you don't get confused as to who it is created for...

it makes you feel great to know you can show care and be very kind to people going through a tough time...I believe that is the right thing to always try to achieve to help out the poor, homeless or just to show kindness and that you care.....

we should try to show kindness and create care packages more often in life, it is wonderful to work toward creating these kind things....
