Flour, sugar, bread yeast, affordable baking !....

Baking is a nice way to be creative, and feed your family at the same time.....

Bread is fun to mix, watch grow into a pretty bread in the oven, I love the scent of fresh homemade bread.

Old fashioned bread recipes are the best, just remember best to always mix bread dough starter only with a wooden spoon, let bread yeast set in only glass jar, covered with cheese cloth.....

Yeast is one of the prized possessions of a wonderful baker ! Very silly looking, just as grounds look yellowish, Brown in color.......can be purchased in jars, or simple three pack paper packet.......Fleischmanns, one I enjoy....others,

Flour brands are plenty ! In the paper packaging, very affordable !

Sugar cane, raw, or powdered, granulated, plenty brands ! I bake, prepare several sweets with sugar.....affordable.

Sugar + Flour holding canisters with lids are nice ! In sets, keep those pesky bugs, ants out of sugars, and keep the nasty weevil bug out of your flours ! Icky ! Keep lid tightened, flour, sugars dry, clean very important, store in clean kitchen cabinets !

Sour Dough is my favorite bread to enjoy, so I create + bake it myself.....then slice, place butter or margarine onto there !  Oh, bread !!! Yum ! ;)

This is a souring sour dough bread starter, old style.

Cattle Trail Sour Dough Starter

One package dry yeast
Two cups flour
Two cups warm water

Combine ingredients in large plastic, glass or ceramic bowl ( no metal ). Mix well

Cover with cheesecloth, place in warm place indoors, kitchen is fine. Leave two days. Stir several times each day to mix ingredients. Keep covered in kitchen.

Bread starter will increase in volume a bit. Let it rise two days, then store in refrigerator.

When ready to make bread, stir well and remove amount needed. Replenish starter with one cup flour, one cup water, mix well and store in refrigerator......you can keep bread starter continuing, be clean, keep refrigerated.

Follow sour dough bread recipe using starter. Then bake bread, slice, butter or margarine, serve with meals....
